In general, glossy papers give blacks that seem deeper than those of matte paper (this is less true for fine-art prints). Matte or glossy papers give more softness.
Fine art and inkjet papers generally allow to obtain a greater richness of colors, especially on bright and saturated tones.
Silver paper has a slightly higher level of detail in the shadows than inkjet paper.
